Hello

I have years of experience in piano performance and teaching in the communities of Southern California and here in Ada County. I was born with a disability of high-functioning autism and this gift has inspired me to pursue a life in music.

I have an Associates degree in General Music from Southwestern Community College. I pursued my Bachelor of Music Education at San Diego State University's School of Music and Dance graduating in 2022. As a previous member of the piano department, I had studied and performed music in a wide range of styles from Classical Music to, Contemporary artists including rigorous studies of Aural Skills, Musicology, and Music Theory.

Throughout my musical journey, I achieved ten levels of certificate of merits with honors through the Music Teachers Association of California (MTAC) being invited to perform as a guest during said musical conventions. I had also participated in various masterclasses with Gustavo Romero and Eileen Trobermann being a specialist in the "Alexander Technique". With other performances in music, my performance experience spans from, weddings, accompanying churches, to performing as a guest artist in different venues throughout San Diego including an honor society in my community college.

This makes me the best candidate for teaching your children to provide hope and find a sense of joy in their learning process through music in their performance for others.

My Story

As I was growing up and learning the lessons in my social circles and even in the educational environment, my parents exposed me to different kinds of learning skills and found out that music was one of the best ways to help me understand and process my learning development. For example, I could not explain a paragraph by just reading. It involved me copying it down whether it be by writing or by typing. This provided the extra step to process my thoughts. Once I had the second step, I was able to explain what the paragraph was talking about. I started learning the piano and realized that playing an instrument involved these extra steps that would help me interpret and process music as reading the music through the coordination of my hands, feet and eyes. This became not only my best way of learning but also the core of my strength in achieving other learning experiences in life and in my educational field that provided a way for me to learn despite my disability.

I went into music at it both employed and developed all my innate abilities and helped me overcome those in which I suffered a disability. This innate ability to interpret music, through my many years of lessons, strengthened me in all my academic fields so that I could proceed normally in my development and academic education through primary, secondary, and high school. My ability was to see patterns in music and because of that, my parents guided me to pursue private lessons in order to help develop my musical skills. My goal with my musical background is to attain any possible higher education so that I can help people others enjoy music and to go on in their educational development. It's not that I had difficult classes, but my skill set and development helped me to complete those classes and subjects that I found more challenging.
